GLAD TIDINGS is a large, fine porcelain, Victorian Christmas tableau depicting a family in a sleigh that is being pulled by their trusty horse. They have picked up their Christmas tree in the sleigh and have arrived home to begin decorating. The snow covered ground is impressed with hoof and foot prints. This family is enjoying a white Christmas! Father is holding a wreath in one hand and helping mother exit the sleigh like the perfect Victorian gentleman. The young lad anxiously awaits permission to get out and start trimming their new tree. Horse has long, metal reign straps and linked safety trace chain attached to the sleigh. She stands at a quiet whoa and is relaxed with her back foot cocked in comfort. She has a very pretty, gentle face and soft eyes.
