- [ ] There is some non gold solder connecting the earrings to the screw backs. This was common during the Victorian period and less common in the early 20th century, but probably puts the date of conversion sometime during the Great Depression as during this period the cost of precious metals was very high and “new” jewelry was typically created by melting down and recycling jewelry already owned by the client.
